The truth is what I make it. I could set this world on fire and call it rain.

ABOUT THE BOOK: This is a world divided by blood – red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.
That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.
Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.

MY REVIEW: Okay, so let us start with the plot. It was effing amazing. I swear to god, I DID NOT SEE THE BETRAYAL COMING. One line I read and I was like- yes, everything is going to be fine.. And then… WHOOSH.. and you’ll take like two minutes to process everything that just happened. That plot twist was so fast and it seemed so real, I didn’t cry but the pain was real. The book was written brilliantly, till the last page it kept me occupied. This story’s pace was perfect, just PERFECT. Coming to the characters, I really liked Mare. She is an amazing protagonist. I think she has been portrayed as a little innocent girl in midst of all the politics brewing. The description of the two princes was very good, portraying their different, yet so similar personalities. It left all our hearts confused in the end. Hell, we couldn’t even think whom to trust anymore. Seriously, the plot was freaking amazing. The other side characters, the King (MY SYMPATHIES), the Queen and Evangaline were well placed. I totally loved this book! 100% 😉

From now on until the end of your days, you must lie. Your life depends on it, little lightning girl.
