MY REVIEW: I don’t even know how to start. I don’t know what to say.

Okay, so before starting this book I was kinda scared. I was scared that after such an amazing prequel, this book might not meet my expectations. It didn’t happen. This book was a whirlwind of everything good in the world.

This book had one of the best plots I ever read. The plot was gripping and with the beautiful writing, Sarah J. Maas really created something amazing and worth reading. I appreciate her so much for that. The character and plot development had the perfect pace and as we moved, we learnt so much about the characters’ life.

The book started with Feyre, the High Lady of the Night Court, in the Spring Court pretending to be the week broken girl she once was. I was scared that Sarah J. Mass would turn Feyre into those over-confident and bitchy protagonists but it didn’t happen and I am so thankful for that. Feyre destroys the Spring Court and the Night Court works against Hybern. A little part of me died every time something shocking happened in the book. The characters started to seem real to me and believe me, for the three day in which I read this 720 pages book, they were the only things on my mind.

This book portrayed love, family, friendship, trust, honesty, unity, strength and even hatred so beautifully, it left me awestruck. Also, there were so many ships in the previous book and it was amazing witnessing more of their story. Two new ships emerged in this book and I was having internal shipping-wars in my head. Apart from that, there was that amazing war, it was probably the best war description I ever read. It was written so well, I felt it happening.

Half way through the book, I already knew that I would give it 5/5 stars on Goodreads.

There are so many things I want to share at the same time, so much stuff I have to talk about.

Let’s start with Feyre. I love her, she is now my favorite protagonist. This was her story and it was beautiful. Right from the first  book, the change from the bold and innocent human to the broken High Fae to the High Lady of the Night Court, it was spellbinding. In this book, she was portrayed as the strong High Lady. Rhysand, who doesn’t like him? If perfect exists, he is just that. The self-sacrificing High Lord who once gave everything for his friends, we got to know more about his character (not that I ever had a doubt), we saw his amazing mind at work and felt his heart. They both made the perfect pair.

Wait, did anyone else’s heart stopped beating when we realized that Rhys died. There were literal tears in my eye and I wanted to throw the book away. Somehow I gained my strength and continued to read. It was something I don’t wish to suffer again.

Nessian, it was the best ship written from third person’s POV. All the time when they were together, my mind was screaming for them to kiss already and I was hoping to witness that kiss from Feyre’s POV! Also, I loved how their feelings for each other developed, especially Nesta’s.

Mor/ Azriel/ Lucien/Elian?

Wait, did you here that Mor is lesbian. It was so shocking to know. Something I din’t appreciate was Mor hiding it from Rhys and (specially) Azriel and her other friends. I mean, Azriel had been or still is in love with Mor from what, 500 years. I think it’s a pretty long time to clear that shit up. I felt really sad for Azriel. I mean, she could have just told that to him if she didn’t want to share it with others due to her personal reasons. It was kind of cruel of Mor to do that.

We all got to know that Elain was Lucien’s mate in the previous book. But then when I saw him so sad without his mate, all I could think was of Rhys in the previous book without Feyre.

The probably-love-triangle between Azriel, Lucien and Elain was.. Idk really, it confused me so much and it was probably the most  unexpected thing it the book. This book literally destroyed most of the previous ships. XD

Also, tbh I ship Elain with Azriel. Am I forgetting something? Yes, Lucien is Helion’s son! This was so shocking. I kinda like Helion.

Amren, I LOVE HER. She was my favorite character, specially in the last. The mini heart attack I got when I though Amren betrayed, was scary, very scary. But then Amren is amazing. Also I ship her with Varian, they were cute although I don’t think cute is the right word to define Amren’s love life.

Tamlin.

I don’t hate him. I seriously don’t. I know he had been a dick but I pity him. I felt sad for him since the start when Feyre destroyed the Spring Court. He was probably an asshole in so many ways and there were so many parts in the book which worked on proving just that like the meeting with the other High Lords when he insulted Feyre or when he made the Sentry take the punishment for Ianthe’s support on his side, but I still feel sad for him. He believed all that he did, he did it for love. Although, he deserves being alone.

It has been 5 days since the book was released and I think a lot of people already own it. This book just increased the standards of YA by so many levels, incredible. I was seriously at a loss of words while writing this review. This is the kind of book, that people like us want, hats-off.
